Hi there,
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to apply for a UK credit card to pay off an overseas credit card by transferring the balance?
Otherwise, is it possible to apply for a loan to do the same?
I would really appreciate any help as my debt has been referred to a collection agency.
Thanks,
S

It is not possible to balance transfer a balance from a UK card to a foreign one.
As bengal has indicated if you can get a loan then that is the way forward and arrange an international transfer to pay off the foreign card.0 -
Or use the so-called "super balance transfer cards" to send money to a current account and then T/T the money yourself. (Or use another transfer service.)
I think there is a method involving buying M&S travellers' cheques which you then cash.
Someone will enlighten us soon..0 -
Just a question about a point raised in the original post. Is it actually possible to do a bt to a card account which is in collection (assuming it was a UK card)?0

Hi there. Thanks for all your replies. I'll look into the SB transfer cards and try to find the best one, unless anyone knows?0 -
How long you been in the uk?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
