Booking installation service fom Currys

I am buying a new bosh washing machine from Currys, been put off by the bad reviews but the price is very competitive. I want to book installation at £20, it is just connecting to the existing plumbing but the hot water tap has been leaking and the cold one seems ok. I wonder whether it will be better for me to book a local plumber who has asked £35 to connect and he could check the pipes for me as currys' installation guys will not do it. Currently I have a hot and cold water fill, and wonder whether they will cap it for me. I guess if the hot water tap is turned off it should be dripping. I like the idea of paying £20, and they will unpack and remove old machine & save methe hassle of having to do it. Thanks

you may like the idea of paying £20 but what is leaking on the hot side ? so you may end up getting the plumber out anyway to fix the leak, so £20 + £35 not really a saving is it ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Currys installed my washing machine when they delivered it but it only needed screwing onto the hot and cold feeds. They also took away old machine and packaging for new one. Fast and professional.
I have a Hotpoint Ultima WT640 and I have been very pleased with it. It takes a large load, and from my point of view you can adjust spin speed and water temperature independently of the programmes and the LED tell you how long it has to go.
Only drawbacks are it is grey (but it is in a cupboard so that does not matter and it is NOT quiet, despite what it says on the literature. It replaced a much older Indesit and I was surprised that they had not managed to reduce sound levels more) but it is in the conservatory in a cupboard and I usually run it overnight so a bit of noise is not a problem.0 -

I do not mind paying the plumber £35 but then I will have to remove the old washing machine myself, unpack and check the new one, it is a lot of hassle for me to do that as they are quite heavy to handle. Regarding leaking on the hot side, since the new boshbe will only cold fill, it will be closed and capped, therefore I do not see it is going to cause any problem in the future. Thanks0 -

AVOID CURRYS AT ALL COSTS - we purchased a new Bosch fridge a few weeks ago. The delivery men literally threw it through the door and there were parts missing. We asked them not to unpack it but they still went ahead and removed all the packing and then changed the documents to say that they had left it packaged. We waited for a week for the missing parts but they never arrived. We finally asked Currys for a full refund - they say they are coming to collect it but they dont, they say they will ring you back but they don't. We now have the credit card company involved trying to get our money back. When we rang Bosch to discuss the missing parts even they offered us their sympathy for dealing with Currys!!0
