Halifax Mortgage PPI Offer

We got successful letter from Halifax offering us £4100 or thereabouts. Only thing is it's the Mortgate Protection Payment, so if we accept this (basically refunding our monthly payments), we won't have this cover anymore.
Having a look around, but I don't know if we will find the same cover elsewhere... Therefore we may have to just refuse it, and carry on.
Anyone know of another provider that we could switch to? We do have something with Aviva but it's only for illness / accident - not redundancy.

I'm confused! If you want the cover how has it been mis-sold?0

My wife applied through Toucan (which I wish we hadn't) so it was just for anything that we had such as credit card etc. This is the only thing that we've had back. Can't remember the background to the mortgage although I agree its something I expect we would have wanted. So, yes, rather odd that they feel we are due money on that. We are looking into it to see what the best way forward is.Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0

Oh no!!!! How frustrating! I hope they can't automatically cancel the policy anyway if they've deemed it was mis-sold - probably best to check it's still up and running just in case. And why they think it was in case there's something about your circumstances which means it wouldn't have paid out in the event of a claim.
Good luck with any other ones that might be in the pipeline

If you want the cover then why are you complaining about it?

So, it is a fraudulent complaint then. Halifax are auto paying out at the moment (whether you have a valid complaint or not) but will cancel the policy if you take the redress payment.
Most Halifax TMPPP plans were set up correctly and valid. Payouts are just getting lucky due to halifax's current stance.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). This sounds like a miscomplaint.0

I"d just like to make it clear that although I agree the claim isn't perhaps valid, it is not me who has issued the complaint. I guess this is the trouble with using PPI Claims Companies.
Saying it's a fraudulent complaint makes it sound as if I've planned this and am trying to do this illegally.Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0 -

In part you are responsible as you put your signature to it. However, the claims company is responsible and the one you named is well known and has even been called a scam company by John Mann MP and has had action taken against it by the MoJI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
