6 Month in USA - Stoozing

in Credit cards
Hi,
While I am new to posting on the forum, I have been a follower of MSE for several years. I am in need of some advice about credit cards.
I am going to be relocating to New York from the middle of April for my job for 6 months. My salary will be paid in GBP while living in the USA, so the FX exposure is carried by me. I already have a Caxton FX card to enable me to have access to USD cash while in the US, however in the UK the majority of my spending is done on Credit Card. I was wondering if anyone could advise me of the best UK GBP denominated credit card I could get with interest free purchases for the longest period of time (I want to get into stoozing!) and this must apply to overseas (US) purchases, so therefore I don't want to be paying a hefty commission on purchases nor be charged using uncompetitive FX rates which will defeat the object of the exercise.
Thanks in advance.

If you're in the London area or able to go there, apply for a Metro Bank Credit Card
It offers 0% interest until 30 September 2012 and includes no foreign currency charges.
If you wanted to open a current account with them, their debit card also offers f/x commission free transactions.
Otherwise, depending on who you bank with in the UK, they may be able to help you open a current account in the USA. For instance, HSBC have loads of branches in the NY area.

Without meaning to be too hard on the OP (it's nothing personal - promise!), the same answer the other thousand people asking the exact same question (which country and what reason is irrelevant) on a daily basis get:
Norwich and Peterborough or Metro Bank (London) Current accounts for Debit Cards.
Halifax Clarity, Santander Zero (if they still do it?), Nationwide Select, Post Office Mastercard or if applicable, Saga for Credit Cards.
Which could be found simply by hovering over the "Travel" tab at the top of the page and selecting the relevant page.0
