I believe we all get different vouchers. I didn't get a bag for life one with mine.

i was not aware of that, thought tesco send the same vouchers to all clubcard holders.

how do they decide what vouchers to be sent to which cardholder?

    Not sure what you mean.

But the voucher I was given is not a clubcard one. Its given to you by the staff in the Tesco store.

    1. They give you a Bag for Life and a Voucher with a barcode.
    2. You take it to the checkout and they scan the bag and the voucher barcode.
    3. Free bag, yay :D

    It's that simple.

Because by using the clubcard, Tesco has a complete profile of what shopping you do, what your likely demographics are ect etc and therefore target their vouchers accordingly. Which is why you'll often get coupons for things that are very similar to what you may have bought in the past, but are just that notch or two higher in the price range.

It's the price we pay for using loyalty cards. The big stores know more about us then our partners/families do!!

True! But I would rather get coupons which I could use, rather than for some junk which I would even not consider purchasing even for peanuts. But, I agree that all these marketing companies do not really need my date of birth, mother's maiden name, etc. to send me coupons and/or tempt me to purchase any stuff...

  • Update.

I just got some Clubcard vouchers and it came with yet another Free Bag for Life Voucher... so guess you should get one.

    One way or another.

I didn't get a free bag for life vouchers in my clubcard mailing - they obviously think i have enough already. And I've not seen the free bags anywhere at the Tescos here.

There is a minimum spend required for the free bag for life from handed out vouchers - I did £3 worth of shopping and was told that I hadn't spent enough, which I thought was a bit lame as had I not already been green (taking my own reusable bag) I would have been using yet more flimsy carriers. Thankfully I did the full shop this week, spent just over £8 and got my bag!
