Vent: RM just delivered letter from October

Through the letter box this morning was a letter with an Audiology appointment for our son, in November.
The letter was franked 7 October 2011.
I found out about the appointment the day after we didn't attend it (because we didn't know) when the audiologist emailed me to check everything was okay with us!
I did wonder where the letter had gone ... Makes you wonder what else has gone missing.

Considering how many millions of letters are sent per day its not really surprising some go astray.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Most unfortunate. I guess now and again, some item may slip down a crack between sorting machines or whatever. Better they delivered it late than never though? Yes, maybe it was for an appointment, but if it had contained a personal letter from an old friend ...0

letters can get caught in machines, yorks, bags etc0 -
OP, do you really think Royal Mail deliver 100% of letters that get sent? A small proportion will always go astray.0

Plenty of them could be delivered but aren't due to people not doing there jobs properly and worse than that is there doesn't seem to be much in the of investigating unless things go seriously wrong.0

And that is why I vented rather than ranted. I just wanted to moan somewhere that it had happened. You'll note that I didn't accuse RM of being incompetent, or demand compensation; I was just letting of steam to reduce my annoyance.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I know, I'd be annoyed too. I've had things mysteriously turn up after months, it seems to happen a lot around here.0 -

can either be a basic York trolley
or with a fabric liner
or a cardboard liner
the fabric liners have areas where items can get caught
the cardboard ones have a raised floor,so items can slip underneath0
