Well first things first, go get your tyre size(s) and take it from there. Have a look on sites like Blackcircles and see how much you want to spend.0

Kumho KU31 are a good tyre for the money.0

Any old budget is fine so long as you are a competent driver.
The driver is more important that what rubber you use.
I have never found cheaper tyres on websites like Blackcircles than any old independent garage couldn't beat.0 -
Anything will be better than "very borderline legal" tyres. It is true that local indie garages can be cheaper than Blackcircles etc for budget/lower price tyres.0

But the proof is in the pudding, so to speak, rather than what I think.
I have almost always used budgets for 25 years and never had a problem.
Any driver is more likely to knock over a child who is in the road if they are not paying attention rather than budget tyres being to blame simply for being budget tyres.
It's no use having 4 expensive Michelin's on a car if that driver then decides to look at the scenery rather than the road.
It is always the driver who is most important.0 -
Cheers guys, ended up using budget ones from a national chain. Looking to get rid of the car in a year or so, which means no point splashing out.Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature.
