And CPU-Z can't get it wrong?
Is that what you are saying?

I too have had only good experiences with Crucial.

I wrote that CPU-Z tells you exactly what you have onboard, unlike the Crucial Tool, which tells you what they have for sale. :)

I too buy from Crucial, if the price is right. If it is not, I look elsewhere. I am not a sheep.

By doing these posts I have learned a lot, so many thanks.
I thought I might be capable of fitting the memory as I'd fitted a wifi thing inside before. You've all saved me probably £47 by giving me this advice. My local computer shop quoted £19.98 per 512mb or per 1gb can't remember plus £15 for fitting came to £60 so can't recall the other £5 - maybe vat? your options will cost me £13 or £26. I realise they are skilled in my pc shop and I like to suport local business but I did want to try myself as well so good job everyone. PC World was about £17.99 per 1gb I think but can't really remember accurately and £15 for fitting. Hope these posts encourage others to have a go. I did however take my pc to be looked at as it was running dead slow and stop since my nephew put the uptodate explorer on it. I'm ashamd to say I handed over £35 without knowing what I was paying for and don't know that they did although its working really well now but that's not very money saving to hand over cash and not know ! I'll be much more in charge future. I'll let you know how it goes when I've bought and inserted the memory.

Thank you everyone who helped with this. I bought 2gb from crucial & installed it today. Pc s running really fast so I'm v pleased. Crucial were most helpful as well. The leaflet that came with it was good as I was afraid to push too hard but it said how much pressure it needed & they were right! Obviously! So thnx for saving me money as it cost me £26 so I'm well happy. Hope it encourages others to have a go. I certainly am glad I tried.
