Ok I'm confused.......I don't consider myself to be a dummy, but I just can't work out my bill. I know I pay it and Sainsburys energy say my DD is fine, but if I want to compare prices with other companies then i get stuck. I ran through a comparison site and it told me to switch to NPower, but when I looked at the figures they seemed to be more?
Anyhow
This is what it says on my last bill
Electricity
Price kWh@p
911@6.650
197@14.055
Units 1108 - £88.27
Gas
Price kWh@p
2055@1.678
1002@2.774
Units 97 £62.28
They then give me a discount of £2.20 and then add Vat £7.42
what am i paying?

Stay where you are those rates are very good. When you use the comparison site they automatically calculated as if you are with EDF who are now the licensed supplier who Sainsbury are linked with (see sainbury's energy website). If your prices change onto the EDF standard rates then reassess. You may have been offered a special deal when EDF where linked with Scot Power. Might even be a price fix with them???0

yeah it was a capped offer ages ago, I think it's about to expire soon though0

Those rates are excellent and there is nothing on offer now that comes close to those prices; so obviously stay on that tariff as long as possible.
EDF have masses of old tariffs, some taken over from companies who went out of business e.g. London electricity. Some of these, even though not capped tariffs, are really very cheap. They have not revised some of them to bring them in line with other EDF tariffs.0 -
Apparently Scottish Power no longer have anything to do with Sainsburys Energy (according to the 'EDF Sainsburys Energy' bloke that signed us up yesterday). EDF have apparently now got the contract to supply Sainsburys Energy and Scottish Power can only continue to 'sell' as Sainsburys Energy to existing customers for a few more months.
We were with Sainsburys Energy via Scottish Power but changed to Sainsburys Energy via EDF to get the Nectar Points each month/quarter. We never even got the 'bonus' nectar points when we first signed up in 2003. Hope we've done the right thing.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024
