Blackhorse PPI

Hi, I have had 2 claims that have been upheld for mis sold PPI with Blackhorse. In the letter they sent to me it was a bit confusing as I was unsure how much I was getting back. The last loans I had with them were secured and as I got into arrears they took me to court for a repossession order. I agreed to pay £450 a month instead of the £323 so I could pay off the arrears and this has been a struggle!

In the letter that they sent to me it asked how I wanted any monies paid, I signed it and said I wanted it paid it into my bank account and added my bank details. I understood that any arrears that I had would be paid back first. I was in over £3,000 of arrears but was happy that they were going to pay that off then pay me the rest which would of cleared all my other debts.

I rang them yesterday and they said that a cheque has been sent to me for £1,400 and approx £17,000 has been paid offy loan. They didn't have the complete workings out yet but they said although this amount had been paid I still had £759 arrears even though I now only owed between £8,000 and £10,000 now. Does this sound right as I am extremely confused?

It's impossible for anyone to comment here unless you divulge far more information. The Bank has obviously used the PPI complaint redress to pay outstanding arrears and I'm assuming you have been paid a cheque for any excess. Why they would then tell you that you are still in arrears is not clear from your post.
The only certain way to find out is to ask the bank directly!

I haven't received anything as yet. I just spoke to SCM the solicitors who act for BH. I owed £3,000 or so in arrears but they are paying off most of the loan but I am still in arrears. This was what I was asking and this was what I don't understand! :-)

Really your only option is to call those solicitors and ask them to explain the situation more clearly.

If the content of that letter still leaves you confused then post again and perhaps someone here may be able to help further.

The loan will be reset, the whole ppi will come off so you should not have any arrears, once this is sorted it should be zero arrears, wait for the loan to be reset.
