prudential insurance???

i took out a life assurance policy approx 13 years ago, i would now like to add my husband or start new policy for him and assumed the best bet would be to go with who i already had some insurance with. HOWEVER the 2 high street branches i had visited have closed down. i have lost my policy which i assume would have given contact deails and doing a search on the net for them keeps coming up unfound. i assume and hope they are still going. does anyone have any contact details and do you think they are any good anymore, should i look elsewhere?

Prudential decided to close their direct sales arms, like many of the old house to house providers. The cost of running direct sales forces and future liabilities made it uneconomical. They instead chose to focus on IFA distribution and telephone/internet.

A policy of 13 years ago is probably quite expensive compared with current pricing. However, there may be policy options on there which could be attractive and worth keeping. Plus pricing is based on your age. So whilst prices have dropped big time and the Pru direct sales force life product would have been expensive, the number of years passed may make it cheaper to keep than to start with a new one.

Prudential are one of the biggest life assurance companies in the UK. Financially sound and generally pretty good to deal with from a service point of view.

Without knowing your policy details, no-one can answer your questions as to whether it is any good.

i was intending upon keeping my policy as it stands as it didnt seem worth cancelling at this point. seeing as they are so expensive i doubt getting something similar for my husband being similarly priced. having said that am looking more toward something for our future. this is a only get money if you die type thing for 100k which i pay £18.50 a month for, do not know if thats good or bad think it was a 20 year thing
