Boundary Dispute

Hi,
We live at the end of a block of nine terraced houses.
All residents have to park their cars at the back of the houses.
The access road, which is the only access to the back of the houses runs down the side of the first house, and then bends 90 degrees to the left and then runs along the garages at the back of the first 6 houses. The garages at the back of the other 3 houses are 90 degrees to those other garages
The owners of the first 6 houses all insist that the boundary to their property runs over the access road directly at the back of their garage and that they only have to give us right of way. We feel that their boundaries should end at the back of their garages and not cover any part of the access road.
How can we find out definitively who is right?

You can get their deeds and plans off the Land Registry website. Cost about £10 for both documents. Lots of scam sites offering searches for an inflated cost. This is the official site

Even if their boundaries do include the access to your garage, there may be easements built into the deeds which provide you with access rights. And if you have had access for more than a certain number of years without challenge, you may have gained rights.
Start by downloading your own title deeds which should indicate in the text whether you have an easement.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi. Thank you both so much for your quick replies. We have checked that website daveyjp and unfortunately they do own the land - they have to give us access though. At least we know now.
