Cant believe it. Its so surreal. ::)
Not sure what forum this should be in but i thought i'd give you an update on the 'Having a baby in 4 weeks & bricking it' thread 8) (she arrived a week early!)
My wife was in labour for 24 hours and finally gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl - 6.5lbs. ;D ;D ;D We finally decided upon a name and mum and baby are doing great at the Rosy Hospital Cambridge - where the staff were absolutly fantastic.
My respect for women has gone up a billion fold having seen my wife go through 24 hours heart wrenching pain

- i like most other men would have just flaked at the first sign of pain but like a trooper she finally gave birth via a Van Toots suction cap thingy (or somet???) Watching her was awful and i felt so helpless. :'(
Anyway - heres my baby - 'Asha'.Its an Indian name which means 'Hope' or 'Wish' and she is absolutely beautiful. she also has HUGE lungs!!! ;D.....
Im not sure if i've posted these photos right but i'll have a go.....

Anyway guys - as a direct result of your advice Baby Asha will be getting a Child Trust Fund, a Sure Start Grant, Child Tax Credits, Working Tax Credits (for us)
and No overpriced cot bumpers!!!
Thanks to you all

Many congrats to both of you!! You have a lovely little girl! I didn't post in your original thread but I found it really useful as I have 2 weeks to go until my baby is due. So thanks for posting and to everyone who passed on their tips!!
I loved your reference to the 'van toots' I can only guess you were talking about 'ventouse' ;D Hope 'mum' is recovering now, 24 hours is a long labour so I hope you are giving her lots of TLC!!0 -

I love the name - I've never heard of it before. And could you please ask your wife how she looks so great after just giving birth? I looked an absolute wreak ;DBulletproof0 -

Lots of love, luck & best wishes for a fab future together.
I too, read your other thread but didn't post as I had no relevant advice :-[ I have just kept popping back to wait for news as I laughed so much about you 'bricking it' ;D ;D Not many men are willig to admit how worried/scared they are. Anyway, congrats again & enjoy every moment 'cos it just flies by ;DSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

A big congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of baby Asha. She is gorgous, and you and your wife must be very proud.
Glad to hear you stood up well to the ordeal, with one of my deliveries Mr Judi spent most of it throwing up in the visitors toilet - and he hadnt seen anything!!! It was just the stress.
I wish Asha health, wealth and happiness always. xxx
