The renewal from the AA was at £173 so i phoned telling them they were basically havin a laugh and i was going elsewhere the answer "lets have a look we can offer same deal for £100" certainly proves they were avin a laugh in the first place.

£100 to be towed to one of their garages. They still are.
  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to pay £30 and get Brakedown cover on your insurance policy?

I asked them about their policy about towing to their garages and they said the policy is that they would take our car and up to seven people to the destination of our choice plus i also have home start.

So when they offered you £100 did you tell them that you don't do business with conmen and you were going to find an ethical company to deal with, or did you assume they'll instantly stop trying to rob everybody now they've been found out by one person?

I took out AA memb last April via Quidco for £71 for Breakdown and Relay ( with the cashback which was about £22 I think ) so paid £49 .I got my renewal this morning for £118 and called to cancel and the girl said she would have a look to see what she could do ...I got it for £75 so it's def worth phoning

" Our Choice" ?? so you must have Relay cos changes to terms and conditions for Roadside Assistance says that if the car cannot be fixed at roadside they will take " you, your car and up to 7 passengers to THE AA's CHOICE OF RELEVANT LOCAL REPAIRER"

I believe that it is " Relay /National Assistance ( as it is now called )" which will take you to your choice of destination.
