Holiday in Phuket

I am planning a holiday to Phuket, Bangkok in May and am enquiring as to the quickest and cheapest way to get to and from the new airport. Does anyone know how long the journey takes? Also is Phuket a good spot or are there any other lively seaside spots that are nicer?
Thanks
Thanks

Which is technically correct.
However, it's a great value time to go as hotels typically offer 2 for 1 specials from May - Oct on that coast, in effect halving the hotel price. And yet it doesn't suddenly go from hot and sunny on April 30th to hotter and 24 hour rain on May 1st. Even if the rainy season is not delayed (which it is more than it isn't!) you will tend to get 1 hours rain during the day, at a predictable time. And it's rather nice and cooling!
I've been to Krabi & Phuket in May and not seen a drop of rain. It's a small risk, but i'd happily take it!0 -

Same as the old one. Took me 40 minutes from Lumpini Park where I was staying. The Skytrain is being built there, but judging by progress, i'd say won't finish for several years.
Costwise, i'm sure a bus is cheapest. However, for the sake of £6-£10 sort out a taxi or transfer beforehand. The largest source of rip-offs in Thailand is against tired tourists coming in from Europe, not understanding new currencies etc etc.0
