£1300 for first year returns seems a little on the high side if you are also paying for them to do the initial setup and guide you through it. FWIW I got loads of free advice when planning my business, registered it myself and paid £800 ex VAT for the first year. Of course it will depend on your location and in what state the book keeping is submitted to your accountant.

Perhaps it is worth having a look around? Certainly a tough call if you have a good accountant for many years but like any service provider there are a few that crank their prices up over the years knowing not many will switch. At least if you have a couple of quotes you could negotiate with your current accountant.
