Help with Eurostar journey to Bruges

Hi

I'm travelling to Bruges on Eurostar on Friday night and I understand once you get to Brussels I need to change trains to then get to Bruges.

I heard there are no signs to help bewildered Eurostar passengers and everyone just queues up at the tourist office for directions.

Can anyone provide any useful hints on this matter.

Obviously there's no info on the Eurostar website so I came to you guys.

Thanks in advance

From memory, the Eurostar arrival at Brussels Midi is over on one end of the station, you just follow the exit signs until you reach the main part of the station. Lots of stairs and it's a fair walk with luggage.

Once you reach the main part of the station there are departure boards which will list all the trains, it's quite straightforward.

    Try this very useful site
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
  • Very straightforward as mjdh says, head for the middle of the station where there are large electronic noticeboards and look for Bruges train. Don't waste your time at the tourist office. You'll be surprised at how easy it is. Remember though that the trains run exactly to time, not like the UK.
  • Yes, do go to this site; https://www.seat61.com it is not only useful but very you could spend hours planning railway journeys all over the world!
I seem to remember that the site also alerted me to the fact that when you buy a eurostar ticket to Brussels you are allowed to use that ticket to continue your journey to whatever your final destination is in Belgium, in your case Bruges. So don't buy another ticket when you get there, you don't need it but do check first on the man in seat61 website before you go.

Here's a link to the timetable for tomorrow night's Brussels Midi to Bruges trains. Heading for the middle of the concourse is a really good idea.

I used to work there once a week and even I sometimes got lost there as there's little natural light and one big long councourse, few signs for anything.
