Good afternoon all

it now seems that after the letters from ukpc, the threatening / begging letters from debt recovery plus it now seems ukpc are now going down a different road and selling the debt to Zenith who will do me a favour of only charging me £89:j if i pay within 14 days as they bought the debt at a discount (mmmmm). oh well if i hang on longer surely it will come down to £0.00.

hopefully someone can answer this question, if zenith have allegedly paid the debt for me how can they prove i entered into any contract with them ???? (yes i know its part of the scam but asking in principle).

also any body who has received these charges please hold in there and do not pay anything as i have had 3 letters from debt recovery plus threatening legal action if i dont pay, so i havent and now they so say have sold the debt on to zenith who are threatening to take me to court. just think if i legitimately owed any money to a respectable company then i /you would not be harrassed by various companies and would be straight in front of a judge answering his questions.

have a good day:T

Zenith haven't paid anything for the 'alleged debt' because we understand that Zenith are just a trading name of your old friends, Debt Recovery Plus (next desk along then!). Sometimes the address or phone number is the same which gives you a clue!

You have no contract with DRP or Zenith or whatever alter ego they want to invent! They make their money by debt chasing, which includes bogus debts like this as well - they don't care as long as their clients refer a list to them, they know they can skim a fair % off when some easily-scared people pay up.

If you Google 'Debt Recovery Plus Zenith PPC PCN ignore' no doubt you will find other forum threads from here and pepipoo where people have already seen through the whole letter-chain.

Is the whole letter-chain in the top thread? If not then if you don't mind sending anonymised pics of them to Crabman by pm then he will update the top thread and this will benefit other newbies who have just experienced the start of the UKPC scam.

the latest Zenith letter is not listed in the letter chain of UKPC so will be uploaded asap. for your info i work for a large national truck rental company who employ 2 people who deal with all PCNs and both of them are so interested in my stand off with UKPC and the letter chains that follow that i have to keep them updated every week in how these scams work.

Your Fleet Manager would do well to show the whole team this link so they can see the whole private parking industry is just based on a scam that impersonates authority:

    http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2009/5/28/question-private-parking-fines-fleets-urged/30698/

And maybe consider starting to use a simple template version of 'private parking letter one' and 'private parking letter two' on this BVRLA link.

Or, ignore private fake PCNs (easy to spot as they don't have the word 'penalty' and do not have a Council logo).

Or, send a letter similar to the BVRLA versions but do not name the hirer as you do not currently have to at all, despite what PPCs may say. At the moment you don't have to but after the Freedoms Act comes in this year in October, I think Hire and Lease companies will 'have to' name the driver but will still not be responsible for the fake PCN in any way.

All the info will be chewed over on this forum at the time so watch this space about any change. :)
