Cleaning grimey microwave glass plate?

I am naughty and haven't kept on top of cleaning the glass plate in our combination microwave (I clean the sides with the microwaved lemon juice trick, at least), and with the high temperatures using the oven feature, it's baked on the grime quite stubbornly onto the glass tray. I tried soaking in hot water and washing up liquid, soaking in a multi-purpose kitchen cleaner, leaving a bicarb paste on overnight, soaking in lemon juice, and a spray kitchen cleaner. Tried scrubbing with a sponge and using a bristle brush. I've got a bit of the stuff off but it's really stubborn and still dirty/sticky. Before I go out and buy some oven cleaner, any OS tips for really stubborn grime?

Elbow grease and a proper pan-scourer like one of those green scrubby ones or even metal. A sponge or washing-up brush just aren't butch enough for what you need to do.0

I use a stainless steel scourer on my ceramic plate. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Unfortunately I don't think I could stick it into OH without doing a fair bit of damage to him :rotfl: Dishwasher-free house here.0 -

I would try a solution of caustic soda tbh, if it's that bad. Just be sure to use a plastic basin/bucket and gloves.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Try soaking in a washing up bowl of boiling water & soda crystals (or the sink if bowl not big enough).
If you don't have any soda, try Stardrops & a scourer or scrubby sponge thing. Love Stardrops, it's fantastic stuff - only cleaning stuff I buy now.
Failing that, I've got a spare glass plate for a Panasonic micro/combi oven sitting in my under-stairs cupboard if you'd like it?! Recently had to buy a new one (was only £20 more than getting broken one repaired!) & kept the old glass plate "just in case it comes in handy..." I am turning into my Dad :eek:0 -
Biological washing powder and hot water soak, then rinse, followed by a Magic sponge and lots of elbow grease.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
