Contract of Employment for Sole Trader with staff

Hi
Just hoping someone will be able to help out - i've just started doing admin for a sole trader who has only just set up but has 4 employees and we're looking to put together a contract of employment for them. I have been given a template to use that was for a limited company so a lot of the text refers to 'the company' . As he is a sole trader I wasn't sure this was relevant for our purposes but can't for the life of me think of what to change it to. An example of it's use is :-
The title of the job which you are employed to do is: Electrician
The Company may amend your duties from time to time, and, in addition to your normal duties you may from time to time be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Does anyone know if we are ok to leave it as The Company or do we need to change it as official we aren't a company as such - and if so what do I change it to.
TIA

The payroll software I use produces a Contract of Employment based on data you input.
Payroll Manager 100 by Moneysoft. If you already have your own software for payroll then this post is absolutely pointless but if you have still to choose software then this may be an idea. It names the Employer and Employee at the start and after that refers to Employer and Employee rather than Company.AT 1st SEPTEMBER 2009

Great thanks for all the advice - had a look at the business link website but it seems a very basic contract and the one I already have a template for is set up for our specific business area and related clauses so we really had our heart set on using that.
theesel1994 - thank you so much for your post that's exactly the word I was looking for 'employer' - i've managed to use the find and replace tool on word to change all instances of company to employer and it looks perfect.0 -
You can say 'the employer' instead of 'the company'
Edit - cross postedI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

This is what I would use. You might define "the Employer" at the start under definitions.
Such as:
"The Employer is: Fred Boggs".
Fred Bloggs will be your own name. No need to be bashful about that as you will be the employer in law.0 -
Posts 3 and 7 have summed this up perfectly.
The ST is legally the employer, taking full responsibility for the actions of staff, like a company, but in a natural persons name.
