Now hang on, think about this logically, if someone is having trouble breathing, it's immediately going to be an 'urgent' problem isn't it? They will automatically prioritise things like breathing or heart problems as they're the very core of our existence and they need to be looked at more urgently than say, a shadow on an x-ray that isn't causing these problems.

It's hard to think logically when you are faced with these fears but I'll bet you if she wasn't having the breathing trouble, she wouldn't be being fast-tracked xxx

i wholeheartedly agree with everything Kadison says, some things are automatically fast track by their very nature, and it also sounds like they are taking your mum's previous history into account.

I know its easy to say it, but please try not to worry x

Sorry to hear things are still a bit troublesome with the bags......but it has only been a few day hun .....you will both have it sussed in no time at all!!

Glad that you are getting somewhere with finance side of things- hope it gets dealt with quickly. I hate to nag but I still worry that you are not looking after yourself properly ......hopefully as alan feels stronger you will give yourself some TLC....I am sure alan will make sure you do xxxx hugs xxxx

:A :A :A :A I promise I will try :o and you are right, once Alan is more himself, he will soon be nagging me ..... I hope :D
Thanks again. I never cease to be touched by how lovely my MSE friends are. xx

Well I can certainly vouch for that ChelseaGirl :T :T :T :T As others have said to Fudge_Cake, it's the friends you choose rather than the family you have no choice with that prove their worth ;);) as is the case with your worth Fudge_Cake, you have a heart of gold and think so much of others that you should be proud of yourself ..... we are proud of you :A :A

We were only at the hospital for an hour this morning, as the consultant decided that it would be safer to leave the drain in for another week :( The drain goes into the void left from removing the abcess, tumour and over half of larger bowel so it will take a long time to heal. If they took it out now and put a dressing on, the wound could heal over with some gunk still inside and he would be very very ill again. So we go back next Tuesday at 8/8.30 am to see his 'right hand man' as he comes off night-shift and he will be able to remove the drain then. They bleeped the Stoma Nurse who came over and gave us some more supplies as we had actually run out of bags late last night after another problem

We had just got back and were sorting ourselves out when the District Nurse arrived and she changed his dressings, and is going to order him a cushion for his chair to make it more comfy and avoid pressure ulcers. She offered to order us a special mattress but as we have a memory foam topper we declined, especially as they only supply single and we have a king size bed ;)

Alan was shattered by the time we got to the hospital and was absolutely ker-nackered by the time we got home, so he went to bed around 11.30 am and is still sleeping now. His DLA form has arrived so just waiting for Macmillan to obtain the doc's report and then arrange our meeting with her to proceed

I rang the County Social Services and they are going to put us on a priority list for aids to the house after a home visit for assessment ....... another thing ticked of the imaginary list :D

  • Hi, not much to report from my trip. Wombled a few receipts, found only 1 pair of hello kitty socks for 50p (were well hidden, but I've learnt to search for things :)

    Couldn't find the bendicts 400g.

Got 8 packs of the £1 cheese only to find I had lost the 2 x £1 coupons out of my cardi pocket - oh well.
    Happy shopping all!
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Yes then can. I have one it a couple of times using conditional spend vouchers, knife vouchers, jtd vouchers and ssm vouchers. Just remember to use the £9.00 voucher first, then the £4.00 one. Works a treat. My last shop was £30.67 down to .67p with vouchers. I now have all the knives, knife block and scissors and I think the whole lot cost me about £10.00. Also used the voucher from the real food book for the knives.[/QUOTE]

Oooh I didn't realise I could use the two of them in one shop - thank you - I have the vouchers out of the booklet and some loose ones
Dreamerbea...forgot to say before, sorry to hear about your break in. These things tend to prey on your mind for a while, but the feelings of insecurity soon pass.

thanks FK - had our local wpc pop in today - she said it is an unusual crime - I think we both agreed that it was hubs bike that was the target not my washing stash - I did ask if they had had a few giggles at the station and she didn't say they did but she had a smile on her face
i've finished printing off my SSM vouchers, and on one of them, it printed 3 vouchers per page, and several others have 2 vouchers per page- is it ok to use them all?

    Yes use them all
