I nipped out to Mr T tonight armed with my shopping list to give a good JTD and my notebook of things to look out for - no 1p chocolate :( but did get a £1 Value Dressing Gown L/XL for Mr 3Dogs to lounge around in when I am washing his good one :D and 8 x Rustlers ;) ... oh, and some 10p croissants as that's what he's decided he'd like for his brekkie :D

Going to do a little catch-up now but only till the washer finishes, then I am off to bed, so night night guys

  • Evening 3Dogs, hope you get everything sorted with Macmillan.

My gran used to have one of the nurses come in a night as she was on her own. They are absolute :A and do such an amazing job.

That's such a cute pic of Bess and Molly

I hope I'm the first to post this, but you may have to be patient while I explain lol!

New deal I got today , bear with me because it's better than it looks.

Spend £5 instore and get a £15 giftcard for £10.

Not quite as good as the previous one I know but I used a giftcard to spend the £5 and then bought the next giftcard. I did pay cash for it but thinking quickly I then used the new £15 giftcard to spend another £5 then paid for the next £15 giftcard with the remainder of the first giftcard, much like what we were doing before.

It did say on the T's and C's poster that you can't buy giftcards with giftcards but it went through the till fine and I wasn't trouted.

It works very much the same as the other deal but instead of getting a greeting card and the "change" you get £5 worth of stuff each time instead, assuming you A) spend the next £5 with your new giftcard and B) are able to buy your new £15 card with your £10 "change".

Worth bearing in mind that even with the last deal you weren't supposed to buy giftcards with giftcards and that was the only way that deal worked to our advantage.

The initial spend this time is less too even if you pay the £5 cash but better if you use a GC you already have!

    So it works like this

Spend £5+ on anything , pay however you like.

Then you are able to buy a £15 GC for £10, if you are lucky you can pay for it with an old GC.

Assuming you paid for all this with your old £15 GC you now have whatever you spent the first £5 on and you still have a £15 GC. Then repeat etc etc!

Of course it depends if they let you buy GC's with GC's but then they weren't supposed to let us do it before...;)

I will also say - I got this in one store then went to another and it wasn't available:eek: so I think it must be brand new...don't shoot the messenger if it's not up in your store yet! It's on blue posters around the back of the store, hardly well advertised.

    HTH!

    :T:T:T:T:T

has the bday card deal ended?
i'm a bit confused with this one (no it doesn't take much)

Mr 3Dogs had another good night's sleep but hasn't felt as good today. Nothing serious, just a little unwell and a bit more pain. He had a nap lunchtime and another late afternoon

I was in bathroom geting ready to take Molly to the vets, when my disabled neighbour rang to see if I needed anything at the shops as she was going to get a taxi into town for Asda  so Alan told her that I was going into town anyway so I could take her. Anyway, we went in her car and I dropped her at Asda, then went to vets, and then back to Asda and found her in the store to finish her shopping and drove home. Molly was very good at the vets, though she was sick in her carry box :( on the way there. She let out a squeal when she had her 2nd injection and an even bigger one when she was microchipped - my, that is a thick needle for a tiny pup  I will be able to take her out on a lead next Friday :j :j

While I was out, the lady from Macmillan rang :( but said to ring her again when I got back and she would ring me right back, so I rang when I got back in and ................. she didn't ring me back  The office is only open till 4pm, so I rang and left a message for her at 3.45pm to say I was going out but asking her to ring me as soon as possible as we were desparate to sort out our benefits, grants, etc

I then went to the kennels and picked up Bess :j She was very glad to see me , though she had been fine in there, even after Billy had left the other day. Kennel owner said Billy had gone off happily with 2 Saluki's and she knew he would be fine :D I had paid £156 a while ago, and had a further £240 to pay today, which is a big bite out of our budget   but it had to be done. Alan had put Molly in her crate in the bedroom ready for me coming back and Bess ran in, straight to Alan for a tickle and then heard Molly and went dashing into the bedroom ..... silence, which I classed as good. I went in and Bess was on bed wagging her tail looking down at Molly, who was wagging her tail and excited at the thought of getting out, so I let her out and they have been fine since, though Bess now knows what Bonnie felt when she used to pester her to play when she arrived as a pup 8 years ago ;). They ate side by side, and I took a photo before of the lying beside me on the settee, side by side .....

    Lovely, two contented playmates!

It;s good to hear that Alan is doing well. Make sure you make time for yourself though and get your rest.
I'm going 'home' in August and staying near Forest Hall, so will be able to visit my parents old haunts when I was a child.
