    If I tried operating on people without a medicine degree, I'm guessing I'd be in a LOT of trouble, so I'm going to plump for "worth it"...!

    my 30 year old friend with a BSc, MSc, PhD and 2 years post-doc experience.

    Academic scientists are paid terribly for the expertise they hold

    Not to mention the lack of job security/geographical location security...

    Sorry! Was the main reason I left academic research... That and crappy post-doc salaries!

  • Given the amount of stress I am under, I bloody well hope so! lol
  • Yup, living on 2 year contracts does suck, that's one of the reasons i left also!

    I do miss the laid back environment and 32 days off a year though
