Just filed my First Plus PPI claim

Hi everyone, been bombarded with ppi claims on mobile, email etc, so today finally thought I would try some of my old loans.
One stood out to me but I paid it off in May 2002, so I rang them today and yes I had paid £5,700 on a ppi. The company is First Plus, it was a secured loan of £23,000. They stood out because we didn;t want the insurance but they said we HAD to have it. We both worked for Royal Mail at the time in secure jobs, with long term sick pay, good pensions etc.
He took my application over the phone is this ok? Or should I still write?
He said if its successful we will get final amount plus interest. What amount of interest are we talking as I paid this off 10 years ago???
They also said they pay 8% apology fee as well.
Is this pretty straight forward? is it a given? How do I prove it was mis-sold? This was years ago!!!!
Any advice would be very grateful.

Also rang TSB today and I had two ppis with them, going back 10 years, they didnt seem to run for very long but looks like a possible £1000 coming back from them.
Rang HFC today but they said they only hold records for 6 years, is there any way around that one?
And another company I dealt with were called Red to Black, but although their website is still there, the phone number is disconnected.no longer miserable in debt.... :T but dont know how to change my id!!:beer:0
