Claims Advisory Fee Error!

Hello I'm in a bit of a dilemma, my situation is that after taking out some loans from Barclays and trying to claim back the PPI which I went through Claims Advisory to do, in the end I received £6000 from it, now I also received an invoice from Claims Advisory for around £300+ in fee's which I paid, (I cannot recall the exact amount but it was no more than £400). I also spoke to Claims Advisory to ask if the claim was all sorted and finished with, they assured me that it was all over with and I had no more involvement with them.
However four months after this, Claims Advisory then contacted me again and told me that after further investigation they found that I had received more than they had originally thought I would, they believed I only received £1000 and now they want me to pay back £2000 of the money I received which I do not have any more, this was all after they accepted the £300+ in fees and telling me that the claim was over with. I also had no idea that they made this error and just assumed the £300+ was the fee that they wanted, now they are telling me I owe them £2000 after I paid the initial fee, surely this is not down to me to pay as I'm not the one who made this error, I also cannot pay as I do not have the money any more.
Can anyone give me some advice with this and tell me what I can do? Also can Claims Advisory actually do anything as this was their error and not mine. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

If you didnt tell the the correct amount then they are going to think it was over with.surely this is not down to me to pay as I'm not the one who made this error, I also cannot pay as I do not have the money any more.
It probably isnt their fault either. If the PPI seller corresponded with you directly then unless you tell the claims company how much redress you have been paid, they may not find out (or not find out until later on when they chase up the seller).n anyone give me some advice with this and tell me what I can do?
Look at your contract and see what you agreed. Also can Claims Advisory actually do anything as this was their error and not mine.
You keep saying it is their error but there is a very good chance it is your error. i.e. a failure to notify them of the correct amount. Surely you must have realised that the figure was wrong. Most of these companies take around 30%. It doesnt take many brain cells to realise that £300 is not 30% of the £6000 odd you said you got. Chances are it is more likely that you thought you got away with paying less and now its coming back to bite you on the backside.
If their contract is solid (and most are) then they can take you to court (and most do). So, take a read of your contract and see what it says.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
