I put in my offer on a similar property. Another buyer got involved and my offer was rejected. I played it cool, lost the property
Found a smaller more affordable property I also liked. Another buyer got involved, my offer was rejected, I rang back a couple of days later, pushed my price up to within 1k of the asking price - it was rejected - the other buyer had met the asking price.
The flat was very convenient, in a very good location for me and well, I wanted it. I waited a couple of days, rang the agent, the other couple were moving forward but nothing was in stone, I raised my offer to £5 over the asking price, and the vendor took me instead as I was FTB and liked me specifically. I went into the agents the next day and realised the couple in front of me were the couple I'd ousted from the deal and got to hear them um-and-ur over the new offer and decided not to go forward with it. After that I knew I was pretty much in = )Tim0 -
so should my next offer be 108k, 109k or 110k
Preoperty in this area has been going fast and after the sale fell through ( apperantly change in circumstances for the buyer ) it came back on the market in january...
Really don't want to miss out on it, but also want the best deal.0 -
lol, you won't get us to agree!
I stick by what I said. £110k as a "final" offer, saying you really can't afford any more. I think it's the magic number
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yes but if it was only put up for sale in 12/2006 then you have no leeway.
If it was up for sale, say, in 08/2006 then you might be able to stand your ground especially if you can prove that you can move fast .....0 -
You're lucky you don't live in Scotland where the majority of properties for sale are "offers over" the £115,000 or whatever and you would have to offer at least 20% - 30% above the asking price and very often if a lot of people are interested in it there could be 50% above offered or even more if there's a nice view!!!bobby_davro wrote:Hi there
Iv'e found a 3 bed property that i like that is on the market for 115k
It was previoulsy taken off the market but the sale fell through..
Not sure how much they offered...
I have offered 107k but they rejected that but said they would take it off the market for 111k
Should i just straight offer the 111k or could i still swing it for 109k, would they be offended by this?
I'm a first time buyer, and there property is already vacant so i think they are eager to sell.
Plus i could move myself in and complete quickly.
So should i still try and get a better price or is it not worth squabbling over?0 -
i feel you should change your thread heading from "should i offer what they want" to "do i want this house enough?" it will answer it for you:)You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on0
