shouldn't be difficult, in theory. If you want to withdraw less than £50 you get charged, it's free above that amount and takes a few days usually. from what I remember it takes a while when you first set up a receiving bank a/c though.

  • You have to withdraw £5 or more. The fee is 25p for any amount under £50. Unfortunately it does take a while to hit your bank account. When you click withdraw on paypal it isnt instantly transferred and can take a day or two to leave your paypal account. Paypal say 5-7 days to hit your bank account and this is usually about right in my experience depending on when you withdraw it from your paypal account.

    Catford,

You might want to also add to your listings that you are happy to accept Bank Transfers to your bank account. Bank transfers have the added benefit of being:
    1) paid direct without deduction of any PayPal fees,
    2) paid faster and safer,
    3) incur less risk than PayPal since they cannot be reversed or charged back months later.

Bank transfers can also be used to collect payments from customers in the EU free of charge if they are sent via BIC + IBAN in Euros with shared charges. No need to pay additional PayPal cross border fees and poor exchange rates - let alone zero PayPal Seller Protection. Fortunately with bank transfers you get excellent seller protection against buyer fraud.

    Food for thought! :-)

Just a reminder that when taking paypal goods should be shipped when paypal payment received. Sellers should not wait for payment to go to their bank account.

If you ship an item later than 7 days after payment you lose any paypal seller protection and are likely to seriously upset your buyers as well.

I have all my bank details available for bank transfers, but it seems to be used less and less often. I can't even remember the last time someone offered to pay using that method.

You do this every time you write a cheque... AND when you do that you also supply a copy of your signature.
