does anyone here use the site peopleperhour.com
i have had a look at this site and as you have to pay money to use it i thought i would check it out first.
i am interested in writting articles.i've had afew published so i know i can do it but i'm in no way an expert and i do not specialise in anything.
is the site worth an investment or is there another site that maybe more suitable.
thankyou.:)

I think you should focus on improving your English language skills before attempting to sell a sub-standard product.0

Hi,
I use PPH and for the basic service it is free. Having said that, unless you have specialist skills, there is a lot of competition and your bids are likely to be ignored unless you can make them stand out from the crowd. I'd suggest registering for a basic account and seeing how you go.0 -
PPH is free for its basic service. I freelance as a events manager, and I've not got any work from there. All my work has come from Linkedin.0

Used to use PPH, Guru and other sites years ago.
They are all pretty much the same in that you are up against people with much lower costs than you and also to get jobs you need to have done jobs and gotten feedback.
I found the first 3-4 jobs were very hard to get. After that it was still difficult but hit rate went up. Certainly in the area I worked on (web development) a good 90% of projects listed were never awarded to anyone.
I did it for fun in my spare time and for that it was ok. If you looked at the hourly rate when you factor in the time to read propositions, write proposals, answer queries etc it was terrible, probably below minimum wage0 -
I'm having a look at this. I'd like to try the Software Development category. I think it would be hard to get accepted because a lot of people with more experience than me are bidding for the jobs.
One guy had a job of fixing a bug in a small piece of software. I told him how he can fix it himself in a couple of minutes and asked if he would please pay me for 1 hour work (I spent 30 mins on it). I probably won't get anything but worth a shot.0 -
I have to say, I find PPH great. I get loads of work from it, mainly from doing small jobs to start with which turn into much more work.
I would say I bill around £800-£1000 per month and get an average of £25 per hour, so it can be done if you do it right.
They have a UK call centre as well so if you have any problems, they are most professional.
I've found it all very good so far.0 -

Whilst there is a lot of competition on PPH if you have the skills I don't believe it's overly competitive to be honest. At least not the lower end stuff
Perhaps all the techy stuff. 0 -

PPH is OK but there are far better sites for freelancing. Maybe it's improved since I last used it but in my experience oDesk is far better.0 -
I used it recently to find a writer. The response I got was great: nearly 30 proposals in two days! For buyers, then, I would recommend it. As a seller, though, I have had less success. Probably, as others have said, because of all the competition.0

I've also used it as a buyer. The standard of the best bids was very high so I don't think you'd get any work unless you have real skills to sell. A lot of the bids a I got were just std postings saying 'I'm really interested in your job' so the ones that stood out are from people who actually read the proposal and put in a meaning ful offer. Obviously that takes them time though.0
