Hey,

Not sure if I should appeal for this... I received a PCN asking for £165 because I was stationary on footpath for 5-10 minutes. (2 wheels footpath, 2 wheels road) I have done this few times before without PCN so this was more than a surprise to me. Dirty cameras!

Copy this into browser for image:

If am wrong.. then I will just pay otherwise if I have case please let me know. They have video recording which will prove I did not leave the car as you can see also my lights being on.

Parking on the footpath is a contravention in London. When was the PCN issued. £165 seems to suggest that you are at the Charge Certificate stage.

Yes, if you didn't get the previous paperwork you should at least be able to set back the process so you owe less than that. Is this the first demand you have had and what is the notice headed?
  • Nevermind, I just noticed the £110 is reduced amount otherwise £165 :)

But still... I must pay
    Mistake learnt at least...

I was there for 20-30 minutes before and no PCN...

No, that's not a normal amount and increase for a PCN. I think you are in fact further along the stages of a Council PCN and all is not lost.

Why are you assuming you 'must pay'? You can appeal and will still only be liable for £110 (not £165) if I am right and you are at Notice to owner stage.

NEVER pay a Council ticket without appealing and NEVER pay a private ticket (full stop). Do not rush to pay this, you are on MSE after all!

Go to pepipoo and get help to appeal this - I think you are skim-reading the Notice. I would guess that it does NOT say you risk paying £165 if you keep to deadlines and appeal. It may mention that figure if they issue a Charge Cert (but that's for numpties who don't appeal or do anything...).

Which Council? You need to post a new topic on pepipoo and show them pics of all sides of the PCn and Notices, all the small print (except car reg/PCN number/personal details) in these letters of which you speak. Most Council PCNS can be appealed and won and it sounds as if you are at a later stage where you have nothing to lose by appealing.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

But PCNs normally start at a figure and then double. Seen loads of London PCNs on forums. Yours started at £55 originally.

Either way post pics on pepipoo, most people win.
