Arnova tablet not charging

I bought an Arnova 10 G2 tablet for dd just before Christmas from HMV. The charger has always been loose and wobbly but last few days its got worse and only charging if it's balanced at exactly the right angle! Tonight it feels like something has come loose from the charger and is stuck inside the tablet and now it's not charging at all :mad: Just wondering if I'm going to be able to take it back to HMV even though it's been used?? I obviously still have reciept and original packaging. DD is gutted that her Christmas present isn't working.

Your post in Consumer Rights would warrant enough. There is very little the Techie board can do to help.


As I'm here I'll respond that as the timescale is within 6 months it is down to HMV to prove that you misused it, so I would either phone HMV or go back into store and ask for them to deal with it.

They will either offer a repair or replacement or refund, you can request a resolution but the retailer can refuse, If they said Arnova has to repair the item and try to fob you off with the old statement of "You need to deal with Arnova via Telephone for that" you can insist that they do it on your behalf as per the Sales Of Goods Act (You'll see a massive sticky at the top of the forum with a handy guide for SoGA)
