I have no idea how to work my boiler - Glow worm betacom 24c!

Hi guys,
I wondered if anyone else has this boiler and can explain it to me? I've just moved in to rental accommodation and they have left me the installation instructions but no user manual.
When I switch the hot water & heating option on it all runs fine but I can't seem to get the hot water only option to work. I switch it to "hot water only" and whack the temperature right up and switch it on constant (opposed to timed) and nothing, it doesn't fire up or start heating or anything. I switch the tap on and I get a mixture of warm and luke warm water and sometimes cold.
Am I missing something?

Isn't the Betacom 24c a combi boiler? That would mean no tank and the boiler should heat water whenever you turn the tap on.
So assuming I'm right so far you have a fault. If it doesn't fire at all when you run the hot tap you may have a faulty sensor. Very simple to fix, you could even do itself if you were that type of person.
Still assuming this is a combi boiler, you shouldn't need to mess with any switches, timers, or settings to get hot water. Turn a tap, wait a few seconds, and don't burn yourself0 -
Right! Its a combi boiler!? haha, I had no idea. My old boiler had a tank and you just let it heat for half an hour before you used it. Now I've been running the tap and getting nice hot water out. I guess I was just being impatient!
Thanks for your help!0 -
Hi, here is a link to the user manual. I realise you may have resolved your hot water problem but this is always handy to have in case you have any other problems.

Hello Fay_elizabeth.
I realise this is probably a very late and pointless reply to your thread, but I too have the same boiler and managed to locate a PDF copy of the User Manual via Google a while ago. Unfortunately I can't recall where I found it, and I cannot post any attachements here. If you contact me through Private Messaging here, I can forward a copy to you.
Kind regards
