My First Barclaycard!

Hi guys,

After 5 declines in a 3-year period, I have finally accepted for the 22.9 card:beer: (I'm sure Barclays actually said they'd try for a Classic for me but not sure:rotfl:)

I've read a lot for reviews on MSE regarding Barclaycard and am confused.

Surely, once your approved (letter came in post todaywith credit agreement), that's it?

My application went off to the review team at BC on the 28/2 and heard back today and was so surprised at the result.

Any guidance would be gratefully received :T

You'd think so, wouldn't you. But Barclaycard have recently gained a reputation for accepting, issuing cards and then declining the application.

It's an interesting marketing strategy, without a doubt.

It is a weird one that's for sure. I'm hoping that I'm one of the lucky ones as I don't have many options (my credit score is only 786, poor)

Time will tell and will post back results.

I (as with us all) only want decent ARP. 39.9 is just outrageous! LOL!

I don't know why I worry so much tbh. I suppose I just want a decent break!

I got a Barclaycard with no issues, I'm also on the initial card (29.9% APR).

I've seen some horror stories from the acceptance/rejection (and vice versa) to struggling to log-in, but I've genuinely not had a single problem.

Used the contactless for the first and last time in Subway the other day too, just because the guy was clearly new at his job and trying really hard and asked me if I wanted to try it, didn't want to put him down. Still don't think it's safe enough for my liking however.

£15 or less. Isn't that the way Contactless works? My Barclays Connect card is a contactless card but have never been asked to pay for an item using C.

I rang Barclaycard up this morning to check card despatch period and what card I had actually been approved for. It is the Classic

I still have no idea what was was different this time to the last 5. I did notice that my ER has been updated on my credit file now. Who knows!

This morning my new Barclaycard Classic arrived with a credit limit of £1500!

I'm surprised actually that a new customer would get that much straight away!

I'm never been a former customer so I have no idea how these guys work but I'm one happy MSE!:D

I am a former customer..applied for a new card recently and was told "Dear Fool, according to our records you previously held a Barclaycard that was not operated in accordance with our Terms & Conditions so jog on" - no s**t, my last Barclaycard ended up in my IVA..
