Car Hire - Belfast driving to Southern Ireland

Apologies in advance for the 'Southern Ireland' part of the heading offends, wanted to make clear what I am looking for.
We are flying to Belfast International Airport and then driving to Donegal, in my quest for a hire car I keep coming across various combinations of the charges below hidden in the small print in some instances :-
Airport collection charge - approx £25
Cross border travel charge - approx £25
One car hire company said there was no charge to cross into Ireland but you had to take out their £50 breakdown cover :mad:
I am looking for a VW Golf/Astra size car for 8 days, fully insured with the cross border travel option.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of a hire company, looking to pay around £180, which includes for any 'hidden charges' such as border crossing.

Thanks for the link, I am ideally looking for someone who has done a simliar thing. Trying to avoid reading fine print to find a fixed cost for the hire.0 -
I realise this is the opposite way round (i,e South to North ) but interesting comments nevertheless

I think if you put your question on Trip Advisor (Ireland ) they are a very helpful bunch and would be able to advise!
However , these people claim there are 'no hidden extras '

@milla
Tried novacarhire and their 'no hidden extras' did not include a £50 surcharge for taking the car across a border.
Thank you anyway, the rates quoted are competitive apart fromt he surcharge.0 -
Just to answer my own question, used the Tripadvisor idea from Milla and found Dan Dooley car hire that don't charge for cross-border travel.
£168 for 8 days hire.0 -
