Just keep ignoringHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Either carry on ignoring them, as the debt collectors can do nothing (they have no legal powers whatsoever).........
Or go on the offensive as suggested by GivethemFA and go the harassment route. You have a disability, you parked in a disabled bay, but there is no legal requirement to display a blue badge. If they are pursuing you then it is a breach of the 2010 Equalities Act."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Which way would you like to go, Belle? You can get rid of by ignoring (the fact it's so-called "debt collectors" makes no odds) or you can hit back- up to you.
I take it by "ignored everything" that is what has happened and you haven't questioned or appealed.0 -
Hi and thankyou to all those that have replied. I am quite happy to just keep ignoring but wondered what i should do if i get further correspondance from Debt collectors.
I haven't appealed or questioned it because i had seen Martin Lewis talking about it on tv but when i got the last one saying about further action and being handed to debt collectors i thought i should find out what to do next. I shall continue to ignore. Thanks again everyone0 -

Err... This does not matter - The Blue Badge Scheme does not apply in private car parks. Its the Equality Act that applies here regardless of any badge. Check your issuing authority handbook or website - this is clearly stated.
You have very good grounds for raising a complaint against Tesco because of this.
And if you go the ignore route, yes simply ignore anything. In the meantime, check the letter chain sticky at the top of the forum, to see what meaningless threats to expect next.0 -
If the debt collectors contact you again just ignore them Belle. Remember, they have no powers to come to your home and gain entry. Neither can they affect your credit rating unless they go to county court, get a judgement against you and you don't pay it within 28 days.
The chances of them taking you to court are very low.
By the way, I have just noticed that you were in a friends car. is it you or your friend who is receiving the threatograms?"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

You will be subjected to further action, I'm afraid, Belle.
This will consist of more inane and outlandish threats from the debt collectors, and who knows, even one or two from a fake solicitor. You will be threatened with all sorts of dire consequences and tortures outlawed by the Geneva Convention.
Then you will experience the horror of the final action- losing your new-found pen pals as abruptly as you met them, when they decide that it's time to call it a day and not waste further time/effort/postage on someone who isn't being fooled.0 -
No it is me who is receiving them, after you asked that i wondered how they knew my name and i then remembered (part of my illness is having trouble with my memory) that i rang them when my friend got the first letter as she was panicking so i rang them to say I did have a badge etc and they must of taken my name.
Thankyou so much for your replies and I will continue to ignore until they go away. I will update when they go...thanks again x0 -
Well done, they won't do anything as they can't. Whether you displayed a badge or not was immaterial on private land. There simply isn't anything they could take to court.
Another fine example of how those that are "supposedly" there to protect you are actually your worst enemies.
And not only come back here and report your success, Belle, tell all your friends NEVER to pay these scammers and issuers of fake tickets.0 -
I bet you have a disabled tax disc on the vehicle , so they know you were disabled and should not have done anything as the equalities act which applies here allows for adjustments. The fact is once you have informed them you are disabled it should be the end of the matter, by pursuing you they are breaking the equalities act, and you could pursue them, tesco and the landowner or agent if that applies.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
