I've asked for a contactless card now twice via telephone banking and each time I've been told that they only offer them to Gold account holders or higher... which is obviously not true as the picture above is a 'green' card with contactless.

Would I have better luck in branch do you think?

Rubbish you can get one with their free account. I'm not sure what's going on with phone banking staff of late, they refused to give me my internal score twice on asking too.

I have 3 of these green classic cards with paywave just like the photo above. You could try going into the branch and seeing what they say they seem to be more willing to help.

I could be wrong but I'm sure when I asked about getting one a while ago I was told they was only available if you live in certain area. I think they was London Birmingham Liverpool Edinburgh and Manchester. However the website suggests anyone can get one on request.

I don't live in any of those areas - when I called phone banking I was asked why I'd like one and they ordered it with very little fuss. I must say I do find it pretty handy for my morning McCappucino on the way into work!

I have tried to order one six times now and never recieved it. U can have one in any area now, but apparently if you live in a area they deem high risk they will refuse to issue one. They dont however inform you. A letter might be nice so like me, you dont spend hours on the phone trying to get one.

I have a green contactless card with my classic vantage account. I just rang & asked two weeks back. They sent it out within 5 days.....

They still give it out in the branch, or if I phone the branch they will tell me. It's just some people on LTSB phone bank think they cannot give it out
