Who best to have card - me or wife?

My wife has a tesco 0%/15 months Mastercard card (I am a second card holder) which we have nearly maxed, we want to apply for another card, options are:

She applies for the M&S 0%/15 months (another Mastercard).
or
She applies for the Barclaycard Platinum (Visa) 0%.

or I apply for the Tesco or M&S card.

She earns 47K, I earn 14K and have only had my job 4 months (but previous job 21 years).

We also have a Halifax Clarity card in my name (5k limit, zero balance - just for foreign spending)

We don't want to get turned down and would like a decent credit limit - Tesco only gave her £3850 - but I suppose it is free money!

Any suggestions gratefully received as I don't know much about credit cards.

Thanks.

I believe you - you musn't know much about credit cards...

Because I wouldn't see a credit card as "free money".
I have worked at HSBC Bank in various departments both customer facing and process-related for six years. However, any advice given is my own.

    Agree entirely.

OP - don't apply for ANY cards. At all. For either of you.

    Ever.

I assume (hope) he means that they are saving the money they would normally spend, earning some interest on it, then repay it in full before the 0% ends?

Course it's free money - they lend me it at 0%, I load it up, pay the money off my 4% mortgage - in 15 months (after inflation has had a bite) I transfer to a 0% balance card or pay it off with my maturing inflation +1% NS&I certificate.

What I do know about credit cards is that they are more than happy to give you something for nothing. I believe the technical term for this is "stoozing".

If anyone has an answer to my original question.....

    Thanks.
