Is there an alternative way to transfer without using Santanders OTP service?

Yeah we've heard all the jokes before, so any reply of "yeah...join another bank" har-har-har. It's a bit boring now & doesn't help.

I'm setting up a new payment. Doing this with Halifax or TSB is pain free - a call to the house phone & everything is good.

I've been sitting here for a good few minutes waiting on my phone getting a text from Santander with this damn OTP code. The phone is on a 3 bar signal by the window & still nothing. In fact, my online banking session has now timed out, so whenever the code does come through, it'll be useless & i'll have to try again.

Is there an option to do it like Halifax/TSB?

I don't want to have to call someone & speak to them because i can't be bothered with a 30 minute "your call is important to us...." & plus, i've a few transfers to make.

AFAIK, the only other way to do it without the OTP is to do it over the phone, or go into a branch. Unless you transfer it into one of your other accounts that you already have set up as a payee, then send it on from there

Yeah, i've had to do this. It's allowed me to get so far with the transfers, but still not finish them all.

My phone has received at least a 3 bar signal in all this time & guess what ... the text still hasn't come through.

I bet it'll be the same as what happened to my sister last time she tried transferring - no joy, but then the text comes through in the middle of the night & wakes her up.

Oh well, i'll try again tomorrow maybe. See if it works then.

It'd be nice if another bank offered as much as Santander & then i could ditch them without issue. It's a bit of a nuisance that they offer the better rates.

Could be an issue with your phone.. are you receiving other texts normally?

That's an odd one, the texts normally come through faster than a quick thing in a rush. The machine must be broken :-(

    They came through during Emmerdale.

They seem to be working on time now.

The final cycle is the Co-Op £800. I'm glad i left that until last, as they seem slower than Santander for processing transfers. Sent £800 over & it still hasn't registered yet. Great.

I'll be glad when all these joining incentives are paid up & the accounts can get shut down!!
