Internet Explorer Toolbar Gone

Hi there. Hope someone can help me. Turned on my computer this morning and it had been up to something during the night. My normal toolbar is gone. My bit for my favourites has moved to the right hand side and my tabs are at the very top of the screen rather than below they grey bit and my address bar is about a quarter of the size it used to be. Hope that makes sense.

Has it updated from IE8 to IE9?

It has, yeah. I've managed to fix it now by uninstalling IE9. Thanks

Worst fix ever.
If you insist on using IE, you should at least use the latest version to minimize your risk of picking up viruses. You can adjust the IE9 interface to look more like previous versions if you are more comfortable with that, but using an old insecure version is playing with fire.
