Recieved it this morning, with a letter from BH telling me the PPI was not provided by them, and telling me who to claim from. Fair enough. Got the questionnaire, but it looks complicated. Wants to know if i have claimed incapacity benefits etc and if the loan was settled early, why? Also asks if i had savings at the time of the loan and if i had medical insurances. Why do they need all this? If i can understand the relevence it would help x
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

They're trying to build up a picture of whether PPI was a suitable product for you.
A key part of this is understanding whether you needed it, or what other means you might have had to repay the loan in the event your salary stopped (due to redundancy, illness etc).
If, for example, someone had no means of repaying a loan if they lost their job then PPI would be a sensible option. If they had alternative means, then it might not have been needed.
Other things they might want to know about would be employment details and state of health. There are some people who would not have been eligible to make a claim for these reasons, so the PPI would not have been suitable. For example, someone who is retired doesn't have a job to lose in the first place - and yet PPI was sometimes sold to retired people.0 -

There is nothing wrong with having PPI. Just having it is not grounds for complaint. When you complain you have to identify what was done wrong. That is where the questionnaire provides them information.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I had full sickness cover through work and i had an insurance private health care with AXA. Also my dad gave me 1500 which was in an ISA, in case i lost myjob etc. If i had lost my job i would have had the 1500 to cover me for 6 months or so, plenty of time (then) to find another job. I have been diagnosed with lupus since then, which is progressing faster than thought, and have recently been awarded DLA. Do i need to include this on the form? or will it be used against me. I was literally told i HAD to have PPI, even though i explained i didnt need it. Also would i be best writing a letter to Car craft, like i originally did with Black horse, stating the above? or should i just fill the form in? xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
