What kind of camera do you have? Some are getting quite long in the tooth now and they've come a long way over the last couple of years.0

As for the settings, the vast majority of digital cameras when they take a picture also record what is called the EXIF information. This information has details of the time and date when the picture was taken and also what setting the camera was set to. This data is stored within the picture file itself, so each .jpg (or whichever format your camera uses) will contain the EXIF inforation for that particular photo.
The software which came with your camera or any decent graphics software should be able to tell you what these details were. Load the original image into your software, then look for an option in the menus which says something like Information, Picture Information, Details, Picture Details, EXIF Info, or something similar (alternatively, search the software's help file for EXIF).0
