18185 notworking today?

Every number I try and call comes up as engaged (a friend 3 miles away has same problem), is this the same for everyone?

    Me too....
    I use an Orchid dialler.....
How can I tell it to bypass 18185 while this fault persists?
  • It is sorted now here, if you are still having problems the orchid overide is 121
  • correction, it is not sorted, just works intermittantly

Also 1899 always comes up engaged. Haven't been able to make a call all morning. Tried dialling on BT and call connects fine.
  • have just had BT checking my line for me as every number I tried was engaged, they told me to unplug phones etc etc, (which I did), then I thought, umm, lets try it without the prefix and it worked! didn't admit this to BT though, said that unplugging it did the trick!
  • Just been on the phone to Orchid Electronics about something and I mentioned that a few people were having problems with 1899 etc. and the helpful lady there said they'd heard there was an intermittant fault on 1899, 18866 etc. (all those owned by the same company) - but didn't know when it might be sorted.

Bit of a pain but at least we're not all going mad!

1899, 18185, 18866 and the whole lot had been out of order all day but seem to be working fine now. Bit of a chore going to each of their sites and trying to report a fault but managed on 2 of them.
