Eco-friendly baby products?

Does anyone know of any eco-friendly baby products that are widely available?
I'm making a nappy cake at short notice (the irony isn't lost on me or the person who asked me to make it!), so needs to be stuff that Asda will have in stock!
Thanks!

I don't think Asda stock them, but if you can get to a decent size Boots, Sainsburys (I think) or Tescos, they stock Nature Babycare nappies, which are good. Think Mothercare do too? Boots also stock the nappy bags and wipes, not sure about the others? Sainsburys have an own brand eco nappy too.0

Oh, think Amazon might stock them too, if you could wait for a delivery, or pay for express?0

If you want eco, you're going to need to set your sights a little higher than Asda, I'm afraid. Just give them a pile of terry-towelling squares and some nappy pins."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Thanks for the advice. S0d's law that the only big supermarket I can get to on my lunch hour is Asda who seemingly have zero ethical credentials (I should've known!).:D
There's a small Boots nearby which I'll try.
The Sainsbury's eco nappies sound good. I usually only use branded goods when making nappy cakes, it somehow seems wrong to include own brand stuff when you don't know what parents will be comfortable using for their baby (I know that's complete consumerist nonsense I'm buying into, assuming that Pampers is any better than Sainsburys!).
Would parents out there be okay with Sainsburys nappies if they were specifically into their Eco stuff?

I would be but I'm not a brand fascist (provided you didn't include stuff from Asda
). In this case, eco seems more important. And I reckon that the kind of people who value eco won't be that bothered about branding. In fact, they probably don't like Pampers on principle! "Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
'Eco-friendly' and 'baby' don't belong in the same sentence.
Sorry to say, but your little cherub is, by proxy, a massive pollutant. As am i, as are you.0 -
How about ordering on-line, or is your deadline too tight? I used to buy nappies from Naturebotts They do a next day delivery (Though I do appreciate it's Thursday night already so that might mean Monday) But if they're really eco surely you should be looking for second hand terries (is there a snigger smiley LOL)Eat food. Asda do an Eco friendly baby range. And I know all the toiletries in it are 2 for £2.50.
I use the baby oil for my skin sometimes as it doesn't irritate it unlike most things.
Dont know if they have nappies in that range.
The Naturecare nappies from Boots are good though.0 -
iT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE PERSON, WHAT BRANDS THEY WANT OR DONT WANT(sorry about the caps) someone may want "totally" eco, all through the companies owned, others just the actual product.
I dont know if "eco" is a bit like the cruelty free stuff, thats a minefield, lol.
Pampers, if you do get eco from them , are owned by is it unilever, as a bigger company they are not as ethical as they could be:)
if you are doing this as a business(and not just for a friend) then you need to understand the whole concept of "eco" same with " cruelty free" .
Hope you get the stuff you need.0 -
FWIW, I actually like the Sainsburys Eco nappies better than the Nature Babies ones, they feel softer and less crinkly. I normally use washables, just use the eco disposables for holidays etc, so can't really compare to anything else.0
