Google "cycle insurance" will come up with a few suggestions. I insured my bicycle some years ago (after my last one got stolen), I can't remember with who, it could have been www.cycleguard.co.uk Never had to make a claim so not sure how good they are managing claims.
  • Thanks, I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

A bit of advice i've been following myself.... When you go for a ride, whether you transport the bike home or not, make sure your not being followed!

There's a huge network of bike thieves targeting mountain bikers, they know their bikes too, they follow you home from your ride and then break into your house later to steal it. I know a few people who've been followed from Cannock by men in a battered old transit van, managed to lose them though.

As for insurance, mine is on my home insurance :s

    Try http://www.ctc.org.uk/desktopdefault.aspx?tabid=3468

Also some decent U lock manufacturers also give a certain level of cover.

I wouldn't even go there. There are so many terms and conditions, usually you have to show the broken lock or something stupid like that.

Getting it insured on the home insurance is probably cheapest, but you need to read the small print very carefully - items away from home cover, exceptions, cover limit, and so on.
