Need 0% balance transfer card

Hi All,
I don't post here often but here goes.

My husband has three cards as follows;
Barclaycard Limit 2K, balance nearly at limit
Nationwide Limit 2.5k, balance approx 1600
Virgin; Limit 1k, balance nearly at limit

I have my own card, Barclaycard; limit £1,650 and it's not far off the limit, I also have a next account with approx 700 on the balance.

We also have other unsecured debts, car loan which stands at approx 3.5k outstanding, which will be going as soon as we sell the car. An unsecured loan with natwest which we used for home improvements, stands at approx 13k.

My husband applied for the halifax credit card 22 month offer but got declined, he has a good job, earns approx 32k per annum. What are his other options as he doesn't want to apply for more if they are going to get declined as well.

Eventually once he has his cards transferred onto a 0% offer after a few months I want to get mine transferred as well, I only work part time, earning less than 10k what are my options?

Thanks everyone

    He's carrying a lot of debt for that kind of salary. I doubt you'll get any 0% offers - unlikely to get more credit at all, to be honest.

    Focus on paying down the most expensive debts and try to clear some headroom and maybe try another applicastion in 6 months if you've made some headway.
  • Do you think maybe once the car loan has gone he might stand a better chance then?

    It will certainly help. But he'll still have around 18k of debts to his name kicking about. How long left on the home loan?
  • 3 years come november, so still a while on that one yet.

    your best bet is to pay overpayments on one card say the nationwide get it paid off then phone and ask for a balance transfer and put the other 2 balances onto that card at a lower apr rate.

    if your struggling to make overpayments try the debtfreewannabe forum see were you can cut back on certain things and use that to overpay

    with the loans and cards applying and getting rejected for better deals wont help things
