Can anyone advise the easiest way to move contacts between android phones? Currently using Orange San Fran. on O2. Going to take advantage of sale and quidco, going to get Samaung Galaxy S2. Can down load apps again but want to know easiest way to transfer contacts and if poss e-mail accounts? Dont use gmail for much, it would be e-mail account I use with plus.net. Thanks

just log into your new phone, using the gmail account you use on the other, and, so long as you have sync turned on, contacts + calendar will appear on the new phone soon as you have a data connection.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

You're pretty much stuck with using a gmail account to do it. Unless you've routed and have something like Titanium Backup on the San fran, and are planning on routing etc the Galaxy S2 (if possible).
At some point you have to say for ease of use, using google to manage contacts works quicker than saving little data to the sim card then transferring over that way, Emails pretty much will just have to be set up again by yourself, but shouldn't be much of an issue.0 -
On the San Fran. how do you know if contacts are on sim card or sd card?0

As others have said use syc with your google account.
You could try the MyPhoneExplorer app to back up your phone to your PC and copy to the new phone. Samsung Keis will do a similar job for samsung phones but I'm not sure about the HTC.0 -
Thanks again Databaseerror, RDR and Lifeforms. Have no problem using my google account but bit techie unsavy. I do have contacts sncy on SF, so if I fire up new phone, sign into same google account and syn contacts - they should all magically appear on new phone? I dont use gmail on current phone - does this matter in terms of syncing contacts? Thanks again! Where would I be without MSE'ers0
