We went last January, I would never go in peak times, so, as your 3 year old is pre-school I would say it's ideal. We did pay a bit more for a hotel near the park, so we could pop back and crash for a while midday! The hotels don't seem to have any tea and coffee facilities though. This cost us quite alot on our bill, suggest you take one of those travel kettles and some teabags and longlife milk. One of my friends even takes a pint of frozen milk! Kids loved it.

Did any of you read the post about buying shares? They are only 20p at the moment, and you only need 20 shares to join the shareholders club, giving you discounts on passes and hotels etc. Have bought my shares, about to sign up for the shareholders club.

In summary, for the cheapest best trip, go weekdays and not in school holidays!

Thanks all, think I'm convinced to give it a try.

What about the Eurostar thingy? Any saving tips there?

Also, could anyone recommend a hotel. Not sure whether to pay more & be close to the park, or it that's a waste of money.

    Ta!

Livsmum, it was the best holiday we ever had. I was not looking forward to going - ie. thought that it would just be for the kids, and I would miss our fortnight on the beach - but it was so magical. Seeing the kids faces (ours were 6 and 3) will stay with me forever. Staff were extremely helpful, yes food was expensive, but not overly. Its theme park prices basically - same as what you would pay at Alton Towers/Thorpe Park etc. We did the Eurostar (Disney Express) it was so hassle free. 3 hours from Waterloo and when we arrived we left out bags at the station (who then transported them to the Disney Hotel we were staying at) so we were free to go straight into the park, without the hassle of checking in. The train, as you would expect, was full of chidren and they all walked around the carraiges making friends etc.

There was quite a long thread a while back, you might be interested in.

I've been about 3 times and stayed at the Sequoia Lodge, Which I really like. I guess it really depends what facilities you want. I like the pool at the Sequoia and we always use it. Definatley avoid the weekends if you can. The last time we visited I think it was for 3 days Wed, Thurs, Fri and the parks were fine no major queues, decided to go back for a couple of hours on the Saturday morning before we left and it was heaving. Do a search on here about buying shares in Disneyland Paris as It entitles you to extra discounts. Shares Details Here

This is a brilliant guide - tells you everything you need to know. The tips on queues and which rides to visit when was invaluable.

i loved it, we were talking about florida yesterday and i said i'd prefer to go back to paris, but then men of the household want florida ... sigh ... we stayed in the sequoia lodge this time, the newport bay last time. the youngest child we've taken has been 4 years old. if you're going with a little one the queues might be a pain. don't go at the weekend, it's heaving. if you stay in a disney hotel you can get breakfast in the park for no extra charge (you need to book it in advance), it's just a basic breakfast in one of the park cafes, not a character breakfast. they let you into the park an hour before it opens and they start the rides before the park opens so you'll get on 3 or 4 rides straightaway with no queue, the characters are also wondering around so it's the easiest time to get autographs and photos (but they also do them in the disney hotels if you're staying in one). if you're getting on the favourite rides before the park opens you don't have to stay all day if kids get tired or can't face huge queues. as for rude staff, last time there were a dozen of us went, some said the staff were rude to the english, we didn't think so - the difference? we tried to speak french. even the most appalling french is met with a smile and understanding. the staff did seem a bit hostile to those who spoke english, then spoke english a bit louder if they didn't get a response.

we like going at hallowe'en time, it's a boy thing lol! i think there's a period where they focus on princesses, your daughter might prefer that.

I love Disney Paris , have been 3 times last time Aug 2004 where we stayed in holiday Inn which was 5 mins free bus ride away. Room really clean staff lovely even when our baggage went missing they managed to get nappies etc for us.
Must admit not a patch on Florida or Disneyland in LA which we have also been to several times. The positives are that it is so close buy and if you shop about you can get good deals but I would advoid package deals and books flight etc seperately.

We've just come back from Eurodisney - second time we've been. If you get cheap flights, book your own hotel and transfers, you can halve the brochure prices. We've just been for 4 nights over Easter holidays for £800 for family of 4. We stayed at Hotel Elysee Val d'Europe for £70 a night for 4 (booked with Superbreak.com) - great hotel - free shuttle bus to Disney - takes about 5 - 10 mins and the best bit is it's across the road from Auchan hypermarket so you can buy a lot of your food and drink there instead of paying Disney prices.

Last year we stayed at Kyriad Hotel right next to the park practically and we were restricted to buying EVERYTHING from Disney.
