Current deal ends in a month or so and am about to switch.
Done some comparisons and the fixed prices all seem to be the best at the minute with the top ones for me being (im ignoring 2 of the new suppliers)
NPOWER go fix 11
Scottish power online fixed to july 2013
edf fixed to mar 13
What do people think about fixing currently? With oil on its way up and continued turmoil i thought if anything prices would increase however as an average thinker i would presume if the fix is the best offer on comparison sites that the prices would be coming down.
Anyone any thoughts?

Fixed tariffs are more expensive today, maybe cheaper tomorrow. Do you feel lucky? Just in the interests of full disclosure, if I could reliably predict the future price of energy, I wouldn't be here telling you about it0

Beware "deferred discount" tariffs if you do not understand the circumstances you could forfeit the deferred discount.0 -

Thanks for that - yeah i had just been reading up how they use this to get them in the top tables and the problems with this system. I dont think it applied to the fixed tarriff though but still reading up0 -

What more is there to say? If you want a guarantee to pay the same price for the next 1-2 years then get a fixed tariff. If you want the cheapest tariff today, don't get a fixed tariff. If you want to guess the level of energy prices this time next year, be my guest0
