Finishing off stripped pine beams

OK I am laboriously returning my beams to their original state. For those who have done this - did you coat your beams with anything afterwards? I believe someone mentioned linseed oil in another thread.

I asked on another forum about linseed oil and they said it would turn the wood orange?
I've just done a new bannister (oak handrail and red pine) and a Rhodesian Teak mantlepiece with Boiled Linseed and it certainly doesn't stain it orange . I was looking for Danish Oil but couldn't find any locally.
They have had 3 coats and I am now rubbing down with steel wool (and a staybrite?) to make them as smooth as a babys bottom.
You could even use Olive Oil I have a rustic teak table (indoor) which I do every 6 months or so. (Doesn't last long though)
If in doubt just do a small bit first and then decide.0
