Barclays Regular Saver

I have been looking at the Barclays Regular Saver available until the end of the month paying 12.5% interest, however I can't find any reference to it on any forum here or recommendation anywhere.
Am I missing something here becasue 12.5% seems quite a good return?

It is discussed quite a bit here actually (especially since accounts paying the previous 10% rate have just started to mature) but it is 'tricky' since you have to credit your salary and total credits must total not less than £1000 in every calendar month of the term.

That said, it is a great rate if you can stick to the conditions and (I think) you can adjust the monthly amount too - although you would not want to do that if you didn't really have to.

    [Yep, that's right]
    7) Monthly deposits of between £25 and £250 inclusive must be made to the Regular Saver account each month thereafter. A total of 12 deposits must be made during the term of the account. These payments can only be made by way of standing order from your Barclays current account and must be set up to make payments on the same date of the month that the first deposit is made. You can change the amount of the monthly deposit providing it is between £25 and £250.
    8) No additional deposits to the Regular Saver account are allowed

    Thanks for the reply.

Apart from having to change where my salary is paid (and it has to go in to a bank account somewhere so it's not a major problem), the only condition appears to be a credit of £1000/month - nothing about whats left at the end of the month!

The Regular saver acount running along side would be as a savings account - I am in the fortunate position at the moment to be able to put the maximum £250 in to it and as you say this is changeable if circumstances dictate.

I'm just trying to sort a few things out before the end of the year (ISA included) and this was an account that caught my eye although I need to decide on this one in the next few days!

it opens on the day you call them - so you loose a lot of interest if you leave a long gap to the first SO
