Changing from van to car insurance

Please could someone lend me a little advice, my husband changed his Mitsubishi L200 to Ford Focus 2 weeks ago, we arranged insurance with Allianz and they asked for the no claims proof, which we duly sent them, they say they cannot accept this as it is van insurance, I understand the L200 is classed as LCV even though only used as a private car, please could you point us in thedirection of someone who will insure and accept his no claims, this was started with a private car 7 years but had to be commercial insurance for the past 4 years because of the nature of the vehicle. Thank you in advance.

Unlikely to find any off the peg insurer happy to accept this.
See if a local broker (not swinton) can help - if not by finding any insurer to take the van ncd, then by getting him some introductory discount to reflect his driving experience.0 -
Thank you, I did think this may be what he will have to do, seems really unfair, when he had car no claims he could transfer that to the van but why not the other way?0
